I’m Adriana, a documentary filmmaker, video editor, and teacher. My work in nonfiction has been guided by curiosity and a desire to understand how people feel, love, cope, and dream. I’ve directed three feature documentaries and a miniseries, and for over a decade I’ve worked with multilateral organizations, international agencies, and government institutions across Latin America, creating content on sustainable development, education, gender, climate change, and migration. I’ve also had the privilege of editing a Univision documentary that won a national Emmy award and another that was nominated.
As a director, my films have screened at festivals such as IDFA, True/False, the Málaga Film Festival, DocsBarcelona, and BAFICI, where they’ve received multiple awards and forged deep connections with audiences.
I hold an M.A. in Latin American Studies from New York University through a Fulbright scholarship, and I’m a Sundance Institute grantee. For the past decade, I’ve taught documentary filmmaking at the University of Montevideo.
